future pictures of the farm

I hope to get some good pictures of my farm bunch soon. I am just learning about this blogging stuff so bear with me. I thought I would blog a little bit about my sugar glider. His name is Rascal, and he fits his name. We have had him for a little over 3 years now and I see something new out of him all the time. The 2 pictures to the left show a brown and a grey sugar glider. Mine is just like the grey one. Sugar gliders are similar to flying squirrels in some ways, but are actually marsupials. Their name comes from their love for sweet things like the sweet sap that leaks from wounds in trees. My sugar glider loves things like honey, marshmallows, blueberries, and about any other sweet thing you offer him. They are native to Australia, but are a very popular pet in the United States. One of the things that really interested us in them was the fact that they are fairly disease resistant. Sugar gliders have a life expectancy of about 12 years, so we hope to have several fun years to come with Rascal. Here is a good link I found about them: http://kids.aol.com/pets-and-animals/pets/exotic-pet-facts

Wow! Sugar gliders came up in a conversation a couple days ago, and I had no idea what they were! Thanks for the pictures and information, and cheers to many more years with Rascal.
